Four American universities with distinguished records of contribution to the automotive industry - University of Alabama (UA), Arizona State University (ASU), University of Louisville (UL), University of Texas at Austin (UT) - have collaborated to establish a National Science Foundation (NSF) Industry/University Cooperative Research Center (IUCRC) for Efficient Vehicles and Sustainable Transportation Systems (EV-STS) to develop, validate, and apply innovative technologies for dramatically improving the energy efficiency and environmental sustainability of ground transportation vehicles.

Our partners in this initiative are the numerous stakeholders in the automotive and ground transportation industries, including federal, state, and local government organizations, and companies engaged in the design, development, manufacture, deployment, support, and large scale use of ground vehicles of all types.
